University-Industry-Interaction and Consultancy Service Centre
Norms and guidelines for starting of approved institutions to conduct
Functional/Industry/Job oriented courses under the University Industry
Interaction and Consultancy Service Centre.
The Bharathiar University has initiated University-Industry Interaction
activities during September 2006 and institutionalized the same, as a
statutory institution named, ‘University-Industry Interaction and
Consultancy Service Centre’. This educational activity of the University
has extended beyond the university/ college courses. This has been principally
due to linkages to be established by the university with various industries
(Private, Public and Service sector), R&D organizations, developmental

Degree/Diploma/Certificate courses by integrating the working environment
of the industry with learning environment required by the University for

related to functional areas of their interest.
A decision to go forward and join in such an enterprise would constitute
a new departure in Bharathiar University that could transform very nature
of academic and research activities in the higher education. It will forge
the closer links between the industry/trade and academic faculties and
their activities. This kind of interaction will improve exchange of information
and facilitate to develop industry associated/related courses and programmes.
These kind of educational activity/programmes are characterized by Industry/Institution/People
centered approach where, the rigor and standard are maintained on par
with the University/ College courses. These courses/programmes judiciously
combine flexibility and ingenuity with the regular features of the on-campus
